Legislation to allow concealed carry in the South Dakota state park system passed the State House of Representatives today. Congratulations once again to all of you who have voiced support for this bill. It now goes to the Senate. (For background on this issue, click here.)
The bill to fortify South Dakota’s self-defense laws (HB 1134) was scheduled for a vote today, but was deferred. This means that your help is needed. Your action has already made a difference. Now is the time to redouble our efforts. (For background on HB 1134, the self-defense bill, click here.)

If you have not yet contacted your representatives concerning HB 1134, please do so as soon as possible.
You can leave a message for both your representatives at the Capitol. Your message can be as simple as “Please vote YES for HB 1134.” The number for the House Lobby is (605) 773-3851. Messages can be left for up to two representatives with each call between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
